  The "Small Forest Axe" is a traditional axe similar to the "Wildlife Hatchet" but has a larger 3-1/4" head face made of the highest quality Swedish steel available. It has a 19" long traditional pattern hickory handle which lends the axe more power when swung. It is long enough for powerful chopping, yet still small enough to fit your pack! The axe is excellent for felling smaller diameter limb wood or cutting smaller diameter logs for the fire. This beauty of an axe weighs 2 lb. & includes a grain leather sheath.      Each axe head is hand-forged from special Swedish steel which is then honed, tempered, & annealed to the perfect hardness by the experienced Gränsfors Bruk Swedish smiths who stamp their initials on the head, creating a one-of-a-kind masterpiece you'll treasure for years to come.
